Christmas is a special time to remember traditions, and especially those that enchanted our childhood. Among such well-loved treats, the bûche de Noël, or Yule log cake, figures prominently. No Christmas table is complete without this irresistibly tempting delicacy. So why not count on the team at Le Baudelaire, the restaurant of the Hotel Burgundy, to create the highlight of your festive menu this year?
Behind the bûche: the creative flair of a chef pâtissier
Pierre-Jean Quinonero worked for some of the finest establishments before becoming the chef pâtissier at the Burgundy. With his team, he designs the restaurant's desserts daily, as well as all the tea-time delights. For Christmas, he has created a bûche under a layer of crunchy chocolate, a soft biscuit with gluten-free chestnut flour, cocoa nibs, gianduja and hazelnut praline. At its heart, a grapefruit and yuzu confit to enhance the sweetness of the creamy chocolate and black cardamom. A true masterpiece!
Order your bûche today
Of course, you can enjoy the pâtisseries created by Pierre-Jean Quinonero at Christmas tea-time and in the restaurant. Please note that the restaurant will be closed from December 23rd to January 2nd inclusive. That said, the bûche is available for click-and-collect within 48 hours. Place your order as soon as possible to be sure that it will make its welcome appearance on your Christmas table! But before then, there’s nothing to prevent you from coming along and enjoying a slice of it in the hotel bar until December 31st. After that, you will have to console yourself with one of the galettes des rois (king cakes) that have contributed to the enviable reputation of chef Quinonero…
Maintaining the bûche tradition, the chef pâtissier of the Hotel Le Burgundy has created a Christmas dessert that is original, delightful, and utterly delicious. Playing with textures, respecting flavours and sourcing the finest ingredients, he offers you an exceptional bûche de Noël.
