Now a totally unmissable event, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) take place this year on September 21st and 22nd. The theme chosen for the 2019 edition is Arts and Entertainment, and the programme is superb!

From the Élysée Palace to the artists’ studios of Montparnasse

This special weekend features major institutions thrown open to the public for the occasion, such as the Élysée Palace (residence of the President of the French Republic), Hotel de Matignon (official residence of the French Prime Minister) and the National Assembly. You’ll need plenty of patience, though, as there will be large crowds wishing to tour places otherwise rarely visited by the public. But you’ll also find museums offering activities such as workshops, storytelling sessions, small concerts or unusual ‘by night’ experiences.

Check out the event programme…

…Because real gems can be found every year, in every district. Here you can discover a water reservoir, there a discreet chapel, elsewhere a cine-concert in a historic movie theatre or a stroll in a tropical garden. For the 36th consecutive year, the Heritage Days will give us a wealth of fascinating and unusual experiences.
