When Charles came to the Rue Duphot
It was here at 8 Rue Duphot, when the building was a furnished house for rent, that Charles Baudelaire came to find refuge and peace with his mother staying here so she could live closer to her son during his stays in a nursing home. But it’s his love of gold tones, tawny colours, and light playing with forms that we wished to evoke, with the complicity of the interior designer Patrick Juliot for the pleasure of the eyes and that of our chefs for the delight of the taste buds.
The pleasure of the senses
Breakfasts, daily specials, a touch of bistronomy and divine pastries; the Charles menu will satisfy the greediest gourmets! And when the clock strikes 18:00 and darkness embraces the capital, the bar lights up and, like a magician, the head barman Jeremy Blanc enters the scene. Amber, green, red, embellished with a stick of cinnamon or a lavender flower, his beautiful cocktails are an enchantment so dear to the poet... And to us all!
