Following on from Miro and Michael Jackson, 2019 at the Grand Palais promises a rich and varied programme of exhibitions and events that leads us from Russia in the 1920s ... to the Moon ... via the Saut Hermès and the Art Paris Art Fair. What a trip!

The Soviets...

Red; Art and Utopia in the Land of the Soviets plunges us into the Russia of the October Revolution and the false sense of hope engendered by nascent communism with the arrival of the Stalinist regime. This exhibition running from March 20th shows how artists wanted to contribute to this new society until the gradual introduction of social realism.

The Moon

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first steps of Armstrong and Aldrin upon our world’s barren sister, this exhibition beginning on April 3rd examines the various representations of the Moon in the arts from antiquity to the present day.

Alongside these exhibitions, the large nave of the Grand Palais will host the 10th edition of the Saut Hermès annual show jumping competition from March 22nd to 24th. Then, it’s the turn of the 20th anniversary edition of the Art Paris Art Fair, an international exhibition of modern and contemporary art, from April 4th to 7th.
